

Should you find that you are prompted for an Emergency Transfer Password, you may contact our Customer Service team for upgrade options. This is a software security option that is no longer available or supported by Chief Architect.

In Chief Architect X5, Home Designer Pro 2014, and prior versions, an Emergency Transfer Password option existed, allowing you to deactivate an activated machine such as in the case of a hard drive failure.

An internet connection is required for all activation actions, including periodic validation. The Software Lock security is the default security with Chief Architect X2, Home Designer 9.0, and newer products, and provides easy portability between multiple computers.If you have trouble opening your projects, please contact our Customer Care Center at (800) 462-8379, and we can help walk you through the process.Click on the Make Available button, then click OK to deactivate the license so it can be used on another system.
